Substance Abuse Resources in Florida

The culture of drinking and taking drugs is prevalent in Florida. This is especially true in Miami and Daytona Beach, where people often visit to party.

In the Florida Drug Control Update, over 8 percent of Florida’s population reported using drugs in the last month. Likewise, the rate of death caused by drug use in Florida is higher than the country’s average.1

The main cause of drug abuse, addiction, and death in the state is opioid use. This is primarily due to fentanyl. Fentanyl is a highly potent opioid that has been detected in every type of drug sold on the street.1

Methamphetamine is also an increasing problem in Florida. This is mainly due to flooding in the market with strong, inexpensive meth from Mexico.1

Florida is also home to many addiction treatment centers. If you or someone you love struggles with substance abuse issues in Florida, we can point you towards affordable treatment options and resources.
